Building Work Has Finished

Day what? About day 50 I guess. I lost count! Building started on July 15th and finished today. Sort of.

Wednesday 2nd October 2013

Today the builders did their final jobs in the house. The kitchen tiles were masticed (is that a word?), a damaged drawer front was replaced, the trimmings / fascia around new shelves was added, the gutter was cleared of moss and adjusted to speed the flow.

I moved the table and chairs into the dining area and plumbed in the dish washer. Photos show it out as I was checking for leaks on the first run (none!), it is now under the counter.

Oh, and the utility was finished, doors done, lock for one of the internal double doors added. No photos of that.

Tomorrow the painter arrives. When he is done, the floor people will come. About 3 days painting and 3 days flooring I think.

Hopefully tomorrow the skip will go and I will get my drive back.

I still need to sort out blinds / curtains…..

I am very, very tired. And appear to have a cold.

  1. Hi,
Overflow pipe should go in the white evaporation dish sitting on the fridge/freezer compressor, just the left of the plastic bottle. it is normal for these to drip
    Kind Regards

  2. Hi Shaun, thanks. I did work it out, forgot to update. Ended up removing the back bit of the fridge and fitting the pipe in better (it actually came out completely eventually) and putting the pipe in the reservoir where the water evaporates. Cheers!

  3. hi jon, that is a great wtite up with lots of details. The only thing missing right now is a cost brakedown. I would really like to see a detailed cost brake down of the actual extension only not the works carried out for the kitchen.
